Stanton's City Bites

Really great prices and burgers. Good onion rings and tots. The fried pickles are served with ranch that tastes like it comes from a factory, not a kitchen. If it weren't for the ranch, this place would be aces. It's exactly what a burger place should be.

Google helped us find a fantastic burger spot in downtown Houston area tonight. It’s a retro diner-ish place that serves up some super tasty burgers and such. Don’t get a double unless you are REALLY hungry. The singles are 1/2 pounders. It’s decorated in a retro 50’s kinda theme that’s fun to look at all the things. Clean and not overly busy when we arrived. Got busy by the time we left. Parking is not plentiful.

This place is a Houston gem. When you have a burger somewhere, it should be exceptional. This restaurant is a step above other local burger joints. The only other place in Houston that rivals this is Rodeo Goat.

A classic burger joint in the vicinity of downtown, this place has some serious burger cred in a city full of tasty, glitzy and instagrammable burger joints. A long time resident of Houston, this grocery store turned restaurant serves a range of burger, sandwich, vegetarian, snack, and salad options, with amazing sides. The beauty to this place is in its simplicity, yet its attention to details around the star of the show; fresh ingredients for their burgers, sandwiches, snacks and sides. The interior and its decorations harken you back to the soda shop theme in the 50’s and 60’s, and some of the drink offerings including classic and craft sodas. A definite place to grab a quick bite, or a nostalgic visit.

The burger was good but I couldn't eat it all because it was greasy making the bun soggy but the onion rings were most delicious. I would recommend maybe a roll of paper towels on every table. The staff was super friendly and upbeat which was very nice. The establishment was clean including restrooms and the ambiance was excellent for a place that started in 1961, vintage everywhere making for interesting conversation before our meal. The place was packed obviously a local legend.

Once you step into Stanton City Bites, you step back in time. Experience old-world Texas charm with incredible burgers. A variety of different burgers are available for your cravings.I had the Skywalker with deep fried bacon, sautéed spinach, cheese, and mushrooms. A side of Christy tater-tots and a root beer topped off this amazing lunch.Order at the counter, grab your drinks from the cooler, and grab a seat while you wait for your meal. You won't be disappointed.

The hot dogs were great; that alone is worth the effort of finding parking. However, the potato wedges left something to be desired.

Wow! Fantastic Burger. Like the Burgers I used to get when I was a kid at Goodmans Grocery Store. The meat was perfectly cooked along with the Fries. Tony got Onion Rings and he said that they were exceptional.

This place is great! My favorite burger is the Holy Cow. Onion rings are delicious. It’s the perfect size onion with just the right amount of batter. I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was a huge hit! My wedding party and out of town guests loved the burgers and mushroom burger too! Definitely recommend!
