The cook!!! Absolutely everything I could want from and vastly more than most. Jake's has been on point for decades. I've been a loyal client of Jake's since the 90's . I would come over to eat from big fat Mike's next door. The best COOK! in town, still plugging away after all these years. You want the best cooked magic around try a blast from Jake's. Guaranteed to get you all the way to the place you want to go fast as you can go. Burger in hand and blowing smoke. Off the best onion rings made. Seriously, wake up tomorrow and go to Jake's , or vice versa. You will get wired up from the best burgers around

Killer burgers (buns are very good too), killer fries, sauce was delicious. I lived in Dallas for 6 yrs near the area and never ran into this place. Glad I finally found it. Will be coming back again for sure.

I just tried this place for the first time today! honestly my new favorite burgers. food was amazing service was amazing. Matthew the cashier/server was amazing very kind and great. Great food 10/10 i recommend!!

Jake’s on Skillman has been the go-to place for the Lake Highlands community since I can remember, from their burgers, to chili cheese tots to chocolate shakes/malts!! The food has always been excellent & hot!! My family has always been treated w/ kindness & respect, whether we are phoning in an order or ordering at the window/ counter!! I guess you could say that we are 3 generations of loyal Jake’s customers!!

I want to apologize! I pulled in earlier but suddenly remembered Jake's GameDay down the street. We decided to go there instead because we'd never been...HUGE MISTAKE! Their burgers are half size and $2 more. GameDay is a horrible excuse for the Jake's name. Although I finished my burger there, I'm still hungry for the original Jake's. Please forgive me. The folks at the drive-thru are super nice and I will return, thanks for a great customer experience. I'd rate the Atmosphere but I've never been inside.Well I went inside today and it's like the old school nonchain hamburger joints. It's very homey and you're near all the action inside

This is definitely the best of the Jake's. Watch the drivers in the area though. Some drunk guy smashed into me last time I was there. The food was so good though it was almost worth it.

Visited on a Saturday evening to dine-in and even though there was quite a drive through line I got my food quickly and it was pretty empty inside.

Jake's Special burger was good. Well cooked double meat with cheese. The poppy seed bun was top notch. The fries were a home run. Fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Super crisp outsides with pillowy soft insides, just like fries should be. The chicken tenders were some of the best I've had in a long time. Golden brown, super crunchy with tender, moist meat. Simply amazing. I could skip the burger and eat fries with chicken tenders and be perfectly happy.

Food is always delicious and fresh. Drive thru is fairly quick even with a long line of cars. Dining in feels cozy and has a nice semi outdoor area. Overall a good experience dining in, taking out, or driving through.

It was a really good burger. I don’t know why my burger was $6.99 and my coke was $3.24, the math ain’t mathing. There was no protein in that soda. But the burger was good.

The burgers here are pretty good typically I take pictures of the food to show y’all, but it was so good I forgot. The sweet potato fries were decent. The presentation of the establishment had me unsure, but it’s more like a old school burger joint so it’s cool.

I love the poppy seed buns and griddle-cooked hamburger patties. The thick slice of raw onion is a bit much, however. A couple of rings would do.

The burgers and "Jumpin' Jakes Fries" are good and well-priced. The eating area has a great feel to it as well.I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone....except this is now the 2nd time I've gone and they've messed up my order. For those of you that, like myself, despise onions above all things, be vigilant in checking your order. Additionally, they put mustard on burgers by default and, if they advertise that fact anywhere, I couldn't see it. I would give this place a 1 star for those 2 facts, but, when they get it right, it's a good burger for a decent price.----------------------------UPDATE: Bumped it up from 3 stars to 4 stars due to their dedication to customer service here on Google Maps. I'm not sure if this is enough for me to consider giving Jakes another shot as a customer (I REALLY hate onions :P), but they've been good in the past and seem to be making an effort to keep it that way. I can respect that.

Always amazing. I have been to every location of Jake's and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and happy to help you. And the food is so good. Never a bad burger or chicken sandwich.

Good food. I got a double cheese burger (#3 on menu) and a queso with chips. Burger was a very nice size, I added bacon. Queso was different, I could've went without the Pico de Gallo on top, but all in all, not bad. Would definitely recommend!

Actually, they are nothing special as I had read in the comments, for the cost of the hamburger they should offer something better, the only thing that saves the hamburger is that it tastes good. The horrible potatoes, they seemed like the leftovers of the day.If the place had been clean, I think it would have looked good, the service is regular, they don't pay attention to what happens in the place. And I still think I was generous with 2 ?.

Dylan F at the front register today is the epitome of customer service. Not only did he tend me amazingly, he had an issue with a customers order and he could not have handled that any better. Not only did he come to the table and apologize, he even offered if he could make it right for them. The customers were kind enough to tell him it’s ok but he still brought them a shake for the huge inconvenience. People like Dylan are the reason businesses do well.

Great substantial burgers. Staff was helpful. Tried the tots and the fries green bean sides, both were great. Burger with the fried jalapeno bottle caps was great. Old school burger shop ambiance. Beer served in big frosty goblets.
