MacAlpine's Diner & Soda Fountain

MacAlpine’s is my favorite restaurant to grab lunch and dessert! The atmosphere is spectacular & their ice cream sodas are exceptionally delicious and unique. You can’t go wrong with their Dagwood sandwich or a BBQ pulled pork with their mouth watering Hawaiian coleslaw! Pair that with an Italian or cream soda and you’re in heaven. Can’t recommend this place enough!

McAlpines is my favorite place to get a malt shake! And their potato salad is the best. I would legitimately buy just a bowl of just their potato salad 😂

I love this place!!! Everything about it! Best burger I have ever had, delicious potato salad, unbelievable cherry pie (ala mode-of course), creative craft sodas and the best antique/retro shopping place I've ever been. My family drives an hour to eat there and try to go monthly. It's the best family time. So worth the trip!

The food is fun diner stuff and the atmosphere is a fun antiquey setting. The place has been open since 1929 so it's one of the last operating businesses from "Old Phoenix".They're not having the best luck right now so if you like to support local now is the time.

If you love vintage, this is the place for you! Authentic 1940’s soda shop with delicious food, and an antique store attached! I desperately hope they reopen soon!! I could literally spend an entire afternoon here rummaging though all of the awesome vintage things!

If you are looking for Fancy Nancy, this not your place! You enter through part of the "antie q" store and find the soda fountain in front of you. Through the door the daily specials and soups listed on a board. Take your choice or seat yourself in a booth or at one of the iron tables. Don't forget the soda counter. A friendly waitress will show up with menus for those who want something other than a special. Nothing fancy, just good old comfort food. Personally the Reuben has real "saur" sauerkraut and is gooey as it should be. Come in hungry as portions are hearty. It's sometimes difficult to leave room for dessert but at least have a dish of one of their selection of ice creams. Afterwards, if you're able to get out of your seat, peruse the back room and it's collection of fascinating second hand stuff that is more reasonably priced than some other places and will take you back to your youth, even if that was only a few years ago. I've been going here for about 15 years and I miss not being able to enjoy this place for the last 2 years. I hope you are able to reopen soon. Phoenix isn't same without MacAlpine's!!

Food and atmosphere is great. Just waiting on them to open. Their website says later this spring but now it’s into summer. I’m missing this great place.

This place is so good they have all kinds of sodas and it’s a place to enjoy yourself and feel like you’re home but my favorite was they made the chocolate soda and the pickle soda lol my dad used to take me here and my sister when we were kids and now he’s passed on and this is what I remember him by and once it opens up again I want to take my family here my two boys and my husband and the food and everything is really good quality and nice people ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🥲

Love the authenticity. The staff are so sweet and friendly and the shakes and malts are as far I'm concerned the best in Phoenix. The place is like taking a step back in time. really great experience
