Goff's Hamburgers

My favorite burger, the burger that outshines all others anywhere – even beyond Dallas, is the #10 at Goff's. For this one beloved burger, I have been a devoted customer for many years. My one wish would be that the managers would NOT allow their employees to use disinfectant so liberally during serving hours. When you walk into a restaurant, you want it to smell like appetizing burgers – not like a gas station restroom. Ew! This is NOT inviting, dear Goff's. Please think about the impact you're making on customers.

Goff’s Hamburgers is a trip back to the 1950’s. I know because I grew up eating these burgers in the 50’s and 60’s. Milkshakes are great, too. This is my wife’s favorite happy place and “happy meal.” Go there on Tuesdays after 5pm for 1/2 price burgers and you’ll see a madhouse!

A large group of us meet every Tuesday night for 1/2 price burgers. We have been doing so for 6 months. The burger with hickory smoke sauce is my favorite combo of tastes. Hope to see you there next Tuesday!

Great counter-service place for a quick burger and fries. We love the #9 salad burger with cheese. (salad = lettuce and tomato on it). I also love the hot dog options... fries are big enough to share for a smaller meal. People are always nice - but no nonsense. Prices are AWESOME.

I'm biased because I been going to Goff's for 60 years. This was my dad's favorite burger joint before then. The burgers taste the same as always. The chili, cheese, and onion burger is great. My favorite is "The Gourmet", but that one might not be for everyone. They're reknown for their hickory smoke sauce. Their fries have improved since the olden days.

After a long day of learning nothing at Marsh jr hi we would crash the Forest Lane location eat apricot turnovers with Dr pepper and play Satisfaction and Get off my Cloud on the jukebox hoping Harvey wouldn't show up and kick us out cause of our long hair. Love Goff's

Been a loyal customer since the 70’s .Harvey was a unique character to say the least.Since Jimmy bought the restaurant he has continued to provide quality food and a place that emphasizes Dallas history.( SMU too )The walls are filled with pictures of the past rarely seen.The central feature is the glowing hot charcoal indoor grill.The meat is perfectly seared and tastes great.The French fries are crispy on the outside and tender inside.The combinations are varied and provide excellent choices.I’ve tried them all during the years and none disappoint.If you want a truly superior burger this is worth a visit.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a genuine old fashioned burger. I grew up on true diner style burger and this one takes the cake. My only gripe was that they use shredded cheese instead of slice but the taste of the burger was incredible. The service was amazing and quick. I managed to catch lunch in between meetings. Restaurant cleanliness was great too.

I gave it 3 stars because it was very clean and the people were friendly. It was definitely an average burger joint. I'm still trying to find the price justification of $37 bucks for 2 burgers, onion rings, cheese fries and 2 small drinks.

Goff's Burgers is simply the Best Burger Spot. Period! The #4 Chili Cheese & Onions with a Fire- Grilled fresh beef patty is legendary and my favorite. Family owned by a long time Dallas Family who are keeping Harry Golf's tradition alive & well. Highly Recommended!

Visted Dallas from Houston and wanted to try a good burger. I picked the right place, they cook the burgers on a charcoal grill and serve them with shredded cheese. The burger wasn't overboard or dripping any grease, but it still carried a great fresh broiled taste and I'm impressed!

The burger was very subpar. The burger wasn't seasoned and they use shredded sheese instead of American. I've never experienced that before and I've been to alot of burger joints. The girl at the counter was not very nice but the place is well maintained and clean. PLEASE SEASON YOUR FOOD

Tasty food. More cheese than I expected but was the right amount for this burger. Fries were mostly crispy on the outside and soft inside. Will definitely be back.

The food is decent but their prices are way too high.. I spent $28 for 2 burgers, 2 tater tots and 1 soda..this is ridiculous!

I was super excited to come here for my cheat day. I got a burger and the chili cheese tots that Looked sooo good. I got it Togo But my burger was over cooked and my tater tots weee just a brick of cheese. I couldn’t even separate the tots. They had all fallen apart cheese. I was pretty sad.

I was excited to find out there was still a Goff's Hamburgers in town, so I had to go! I had the chili, cheese and onion burger with onion rings to start. Both were very tasty, just as I remembered! However, the burger was smaller than I remembered ( of course, I was remembering my days of eating at the location in Wynnewood during the '60's). I finished with an apricot fried pie, which was JUST as I remembered...hands-down the best! Unfortunately, I got a #5 Wiener Schnitzel to go, for later. It was a non-plus for me. Very tasteless, and the sauerkraut was more like sour slaw. Overall, I gave it 4 stars for the burger and rings, bolstered by the fried pie. I will go back for them, and try some other burgers!

I have lived in the Dallas area for over 10 years and never tried this local burger place. The husband and I went there for lunch today and I was not disappointed. The chili cheese burger was savory and tasty. The place was not over crowded and very clean. If you are in the SMU area during lunch, definitely give them a try.

The number 12 (the deal) dog, burger, Chile, cheese onion and hickory sauce is my go to. Has been for 50 years. Enjoy!

The sweet potatoes are crisped to perfection! My only complaint would be on the young lady tending the register. She called my # (79) yesterday (10/10/2018) and just handed me the bag, no THANK YOU nor did she respond to my, HAVE A GOOD DAY. She was indeed looking my direction but looked upset. Certainly not friendly service.

Wish I could give 4 and a half stars, sadly I have to round down. Very decent food and burgers, shake, and sides. Staff was very friendly and the food came out hot and fast. Portion size was perfect for a quick lunch, but not as filling as what I was wanting for dinner. I'm glad that I came by and gave it a try.

Menu was a bit confusing. I saw that they were going with blending the hot dog and hamburger combinations, but at first glance, it all looked rather overwhelming. Maybe bolder description would help? If you want your burger with regular toppings, (pickles, lettuce, tomato) you have to order an OLD FASHIONED. Other options just come with meat and specified toppings such as hickory sauce. Clean atmosphere, good burger, great prices, and friendly staff. Definitely worth the trip.

Great convenient choice off Central. A table is always avail at lunch and even though the parking lot is busy there are enough spaces. So many lunch options off central have poor parking or valet solutions...when you just need something quick and decent this is a reliable answer.

Loved goffs on lovers. Goffs on Hillcrest I eventually quit going to because burgers we're consistently overcooked and chewy. New Goffs on Mockingbird so far was great. Burger melted in mouth. Wife informed me new management. Maybe that's why. Great burger best hickory sauce.

I love this place , usually when in the area , it's one of those spots I want to hit up. Burgers are good not bad for the prices. I recommend it.

I first went to Goff's in the 60's as a teenager and even though Harvey was an interesting guy to know, I wish he hadn't sold it. Harvey told me about the new young guy that was taking ownership of the business and I guess the initial contract has ended to keep the food the same. The price has always been fine with me because it was my favorite for 45 years. The best. The fries were changed for a while and he had to bring them back. But he must be buying his bread cheap from foreigners. It's terrible! I tried it one more time a couple of days ago and now me and all my friends will never return, Goff's is ruined and it's pretty sad.

Food was okay, but it was more on the pricey side for a burger and fries... loved the old area photos from the 1900's which scattered the walls!
