Burger House

Not any real athmosphere to speak of. It’s a little on the dirty side. There is no place to wait. Someone ordered a burger well after I placed my order (and I tipped!) he got his order before me.As I was eating (not there…no room) I kept thinking McDonalds would have been better and more than twice as cheap.No photos, didn’t care that much.

The food was great but overpriced. This is a dive burger shop and had the atmosphere to match. Had this for lunch and was still burping chili burger the next morning.

Best burgers and fries in town. Double meat is must try, fries with seasoning, and fresh made milkshakes with Blue Bell ice cream. Very busy during peak lunch times and weekends. Accepts to go orders by phone.

This is a fun location. FYI, there is a secret parking lot in back. I think they use fajita seasoning on the burgers which is good.

No fuss burger joint. Fries were nicely peppered. Not a ton of seating so might need to take it to go. It’s across the street from SMU so expect the crowd to include students. Most seemed friendly enough.

Great place when you want an authentic and classic dinner style meal, but what makes it 5 stars are guys on the grill. You can tell that quality is of their most importance. Definitely will dine again.

My dad and I both used to be the General Managers at the Speed Dee Oil Change & Tune Up there in Snyder Plaza years back and it was one of our favorites every Friday for lunch. We lost him this last December and my husband and I thought it would be a great place to take our 16 year old who had just said she wanted a cheeseburger! Like all of us she loved it too. Great job guys. You never fail to provide what the stomach wants and always how you order it every time.

Don't judge it from the outside because the place has a certain charm to it. The food is outstanding and the employees are so nice. If you're not from Dallas like me, make this a place to eat

I rate the whole establishment based on their ability to get the order correct and the quality of the food compared to the price it costs.They were unable to make the burger the way I requested (no pickles and no tomatoes) even though that is a very simple request.The burgers are mediocre and bland for their price. The french fries were extremely salty and I love salty food.I repeated my order clearly twice, the food still came out wrong.There are plenty of great Burgers places in Dallas, this simply is not one of them.They did have a great chocolate milk shake, but it was 5 dollars. It was smaller than expected.

Burger House should be pictured alongside the dictionary's definition of a "burger joint." No frills, simple and straightforward burgers that are made to order, along with their famous seasoning. You can't go wrong here.

Excellent backyard style burgers with two kind of seating, took the double cheese burger w fries & soda flavour beef patty ultra tasty, I've seen pictures in house for 5 or even 6 patties tottaly EPIC old school establishment indeed, chili cheese hotdogs were perfect as well .definitely coming back

As a self proclaimed food connoisseur, and local guide of Dallas, Texas, I have eaten at many burger places but somehow Burger House seems to top all of them. Wether it be the massive menu that I seem to find something new on every time I visit, the trademark seasoning, or just the food itself Burger House is undoubtably a top notch establishment. Burger House has amazing chicken strips with fries that complaint the chicken, but most people go to Burger House for one reason, it’s so good it’s in the name, the burgers. The patty is grilled to heaven seasoned with Burger House original. Burger house has it all, and they give you there all.

I saw the menu prices on a photo someone posted and it seemed too good to be true. Food was great. They are a little stingy with the hamburger patty sizes. Very similar to Culver’s. Milkshakes were not the best I’ve had, but not bad. Get a triple meat if you’re hungry. For the price, five stars. Probably the best cheap burger in town.

Very classical burger shop. Most people probably don't even know burger shops like this was once a mainstay in American life. Worth a visit if you are interested in biting into history.

If you have not been here for a burger and fries, you are missing out!!! By far the best burgers in town. I have been going here for over 30 years and will go for another 30 years and more. I even got my daughters hooked on Burger House!!!!

One of the best chili cheese burgers I had however, the meat to bun ratio was off. The pattie was super thin and the bun was SUPER big and too thick!

fantastic little spot with A1 burgers that rock. I give em a 9 out of 10 just because Maple n Motor, Boot's Burgers ( Rockwall ) , and Whataburger are my 10 and they have a slight edge over these guys BUT its a 9.8 easy. Atmosphere and location are perfect. Eazy 5 star

Burger house has been around since 1951, and has earned every bit of its reputation. Not much has changed and not much has needed to because they still make a mean burger.Pros:- fast service- good prices- consistent quality- good portions- family owned and managedCons:- run down and old dining area- not a clean facility- impatient staff- limited indoor seatingTips:- this is not the best burger in Dallas, the nostalgia around this place keeps it open. Try rodeo goat if you want something in this price bracket with better ingredients and taste.

Classic Dallas burger place! We love coming here whenever we’re in town. It’s such a cool, old school atmosphere and the burgers are incredible! Simple but really fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend trying it if you haven’t.

OMG....It's the middle of the night, I'm sleepless, surfing the internet, and I was thinking about my old college days........at SMU in the early 70's.There was no better treat than to go up Hillcrest, past the curve, and hit Jack's Burger House. I was shocked to see that it's still alive!Jack was a one man operation, a true classic of the American dream. A Greek immigrant. Broken English. A wonderful guy and made everything himself, right on the spot with no staff.......just Jack! Great work ethic. I loved talking to him almost as much as I loved his burgers.What a slice of history!I'm so happy to see this place is still alive. Jack was a wonderful man with a great work ethic

This is a burger joint plain and simple. You want good burgers, and delicious shakes this is the spot. I had the Chili cheeseburger, the chilli was awesome, the burger was cheesy and cooked to perfection. Grilled onions did not disappoint.

I miss Jack. I've gone to Burger House every time I've been in Dallas and felt like Jack was still grilling the burgers for me. Except this time. The cheese wasn't quite melted as before. The patty didn't seem to fit the bun as well. The fries were just a little different. I'm not exactly sure, but something was different. Maybe Jack finally left..It was still good. And I'll still go there next time I'm in town. But I'm going to be a little bit worried.

Very mediocre burger. Thin patty, lots of bland cheap filler. Bun thin as sliced white bread. Fries are alright. But overall very expensive for what you get and rude as hell workers.

Best burger in Dallas for the money. It’s fast food. It’s not a big beef burger it’s thin patties put together with fresh Tomatoes, Lettuce, onion. Get chili on one of the burgers. I’m a cheeseburger guy so get the double with cheese and chili. French fries are excellent. Milk shakes are perfectly done. Great burger joint!

Delicious, friendly, quick and they have root beer! Ordered three burger, fries, onion rings. My kids and myself were very impressed. Very accessible, eat indoor, outdoor or take to go like us. We will definitely be back for done more burgers ???

Original location across from SMU is a must the burgers are great so is the grilled chicken breast , the seasoned fries is the best ! Selfservice moderately priced .
