I've coming here over 30 years. I used to live le than a block away, but now that I live over 70 miles away it's definitely a go to whenever I'm in San Jose. Classic dive restaurant that never disappoints!

It takes a long time to take your order and it takes a long time to get your food. If you want to add something after you order your food. Good luck trying to get a hold of a person working there.

I lived in San Jose for 35 Years Best Place to go treat yourself moved out of town. Every time I go back to visit I have to stop by and pick up a bag of burgers and the legendary french fries.

I love the food here but i just visited here n the food was burnt the fries were dryed n skinny they need to watch there employees on cooking the food i love my fries soft n greasy like i member them when i was younger

Last night, I got off a long flight coming from Atlanta and I tried to order from Buffalo Wild Wings and was screamed at about "beans" for some odd reason and came here to eat instead. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and I was extremely pleased by it. This is my first time coming to San Jose and I'll definitely be eating here again! Thank you guys so much.

Just like I remembered it! Greasy fries, fresh burger and eating in the parking lot lol. Steak sandwich was awesome too. Grab extra napkins or else!

My dad, his friends and I used to come here after browsing junkyards all morning back when you’d get the same 5 burgers for 2.99. The food seems the same which is great. I hadn’t eaten here for maybe 20yrs and they’re 7.99 now but I get it. Great memories, still have to eat here if I’m close. 2 regular burgers with those fries

Been coming since I was a kid.... I have so many memorries from full family moments in the parking lot after a long day selling at the Capital Flea market back in the 80s to coming by myself these days since most of my family has passed or moved away that I shared this place with. Heres to appreciating the new ownership for keeping it classic and as original as it can be, please dont ever change it??

You either love them or hate them. I was raised on these burgers and when ever I get a chance I stop by. A bag of burgers=5 for 7.99.

Got overcharged. Ordered cheeseburgers and never got cheese. Burgers absolutely lathered in mayo. Super dry, cafeteria like meat. Fries were a heaping oily mess which I struggle to even call "fries". I was expecting more based on reviews. Likely will not go back.

Been coming here for years. After moving to Sacramento, I make this one of food stops during my visit. I always enjoy having the burgers, the relish and mayo are perfect together. I also get the family fries( extra extra large) lol. Hasn't change a bit since I've been going there. Except the exterior.

All my 30+ years here in San Jose I always saw this place. Finally went the other day and I honestly expected worse. Bacon cheeseburger was good, kind of a home cooked burger taste. Chili cheese fries not so much, ive had better. Will be back to try other things on the menu for sure

So this was my first time eating at this Downton San Jose landmark.the food was reasonably priced, the burgers were smacking and the fries were soggy but there's a cold soggy and there's a hot soggy and these guys kiss that line of hot and warm hahaha will definitely be making my way to the bar again

I dont know about you but I noticed the buns are different and made an improvement on their burgers. We always get 2 bags of burgers before heading home when visiting in San Jose....Well this last visit I tried their taco OMG IT was so good I was mad I only got one ?

It is an old school burger joint I discovered in San Jose on my way somewhere else. Their prices, considering they're in San Jose, is relatively on the low end. They have all kinds of burgers, as well as chicken sandwiches, chicken piece meals, and other goodies.

Are you looking for the best burger deal in San Jose? Then the Burger Bar is a must! It's not much to look at and I suggest you visit during daylight hours, but the food a great and the price is better. The burgers are no frills but tasty and favorable. They have a large menu so the entire family can find something to eat. For the ballers on a budget, get tye bag of burgers or tacos for less than $10 great deal! I highly recommend Burger Bar

Burger Bar has been my go to burger for what ever ailment I have had since my childhood (I am 72 born and raised in San Jose) The taste is the same the texture is the same.When my body recognizes it .It seems to say OK I'm safe.I can get better now!

I stop by the spot regardless if I’m hungry or not I love there homestyle big bacon cheeseburger definitely a must try. I’ve recently started opting out of the combo meal and getting a side of chili and cheese fries with the burger. Area is not the best but they keep it well maintained and the outside seating area is kept clean.Not to mention that the filled and original churros are to die for ?.

I mean my dad told me before I went that I'd get what I pay for. And honestly he was right. I give this place 4 stars because it was as I expected. You get 5 plain burgers with mayo and relish for $9. (Mcdouble sized) You really can't beat that price when eating out. That being said I wouldn't go out of my way to save a buck. Well worth it and the fries were so delicious. Even tried the steak sandwhich and that was great. But I'd really only go there if I was in the area. Great experience overall and I recommend if your in the area.
