Clown Burger

Been going here for 10+ yrs... used to be amazing! With the original owner manning the grill. Getting the 6 meat 6 cheese burger, was definitely an experience I enjoyed regularly. Clowns, Elvis, and pictures of the humanitarian trips he would make to Africa decorated the walls. Images of gifting toys, soccer balls, and making children food were everywhere... smiles and welcome words from the staff. The last time I went, it had been a while between visits. The place looks empty. The faces, all new. And, the way of doing things has changed too. The food was still good, just a little different.

retro burgers - frozen patties - in a small strip center. not enough seating the day we were there - but the chili/cornchip/cheese burger was so good! think if you took a frito pie with chili/chips/onions/cheese and dumped it on top of a burger patty and served it on a bun - YUM!!! have -plenty of napkins on hand :-)

I wanted to like this place because it's been around so long. Everything they serve is frozen. Even the hamburger patties are pre-made. They would be much better off making their own fresh smashburger patties. What they're serving now is at best mediocre. The patties are the size of those on a small McDonald's hamburger but don't taste as good. The fries we got looked good but I suspect the grease was not hot enough. Several were not cooked all the way.It would be easy to make cheap improvements to the food quality. Pre-purchased foods are much more expensive than fresh made food and never as good.They need to make their own patties from fresh 80/20 ground beef, house cut their fries, and make their own onion rings.Making these simple changes might get them voted best burger again which hasn't happened since 1994.

They are finally back. I heard through the grapevine so now I know. Their food is better than ever, they have added some of my favorites like grilled onions upon request. Also fried pickles. Do yourself a favor. Fyi they are cash only, but they do have and ATM machine. I go when I can get a break between haircuts.

I haven't been here in about a decade, but back when I lived in the area I used to go here a lot. I'm not leaving a review on the service or the atmosphere because I haven't been here recently enough to know, but I always loved the fries here. My late grandmother (may she rest in peace) once said that if she had a day left to live, she would spend her day coming here and ordering all of the fries they had, so that it would say "sorry out of fries" instead of "sorry out of meat". Unfortunately that didn't happen, my grandma passed differently, but I agree with her - the fries were delicious. I did not eat the hamburger because this was when I was a picky eater, but you can find other reviews on their burgers. Even now their fries alone are a good reason to go here if you find yourself in the area.

Had a great first experience here. Tried the kitchen sink burger. It comes with bacon, jalapeños, cheese, chili, double meat. Fantastic taste. The fries are great too. Love the Elvis decor as well. Only downsides are it's cash only, and only canned drinks. They do have an ATM inside though. Will definitely be back.

I drove out of my way to try this place. I had a triple big burger. All I can say it was ok. It reminded me of eating at Whataburger but the burger was smaller. French fries look freshly cut but they were just ok. Customer service wast that great. I personally think it needs to be in a better location.

Place use to be awesome iv brought 50+ people here in the last 8 years, ate here twice since the new owners prob wont ever be back service sucked food wasnt the same its a shame to be honest your not supppose to burn the patty for 1 and no one wants to pay 4.50 for an order of frys hope yall can get it together before this place gets ran into the ground being freindly goes a long way

Classic burger dive serving up smash burger patties. Burgers had a little crispy crust and not too greasy. Fries and onion rings on point.They are cash only so plan accordingly but do have an ATM onsite.

We had a family gathering at clown burger. The floors were filthy and the tables felt like they haven’t been clean in years. The food was decent for the price. But the filth will keep me away

Tried the chili cheese burger, I was not expecting it to be good and I was shocked that it was actually decent. Good burger good fries. It was a old time feel that I enjoyed. Thanks for the experience!

I met up with friends there for the first time in many years (use to live nearby and walk there alot) we were early and had to wait for them to open at the door outside. The fella came to the door and unlocked it and walked away - I thinking he would open the door and welcome us after waiting out in the cold wind so long. Once we got in we made our orders and moved out to the dining room. Most of the floor/carpet areas had ALOT of dirt and grass under the tables (I don't think it was just from yesterday). Our tables were STICKY, my friend got a wet cloth from the waitress and washed all our tables (just made me wonder if the kitchen is clean). The fries were not cooked well-- I think they did not get the fryer hot enough yet after opening. The burger was just as good as I remember them and the table service was awesome. I think they will get better with time, hope so!

An authentic "hole in the wall" kinda place. The burgers are exceptional, made to order and delicious! The fries are skin-on and delicious! Definitely a cool little place to visit.

Very slow, with only three customers ahead of me was told be 30 minute wait, and when I added fries said it would be 45 minutes. I can see why, she was only cooking one order at a time and not starting the next until that one was finished. Too difficult to do more than 2 burgers at once. Definitely need a real cook.

I used to live a few blocks away from this place and would walk here as a kid. It has recently changed owners. That is why I am adding a review now. The food is fantastic! I got a triple cheeseburger and loaded fries, which next time I am asking for no onions but other than that they were great. The service was fantastic with a lovely counter girl. Only issues I had were 1. the floor needed to be mopped " I was almost stuck to it" 2. No fountain drink only can. 3. Cash only! In this day in age it really is necessary to take electronic payments of some kind. 4. Prices are kinda high compared to most mom and pop burger places. That being said I will definitely be back!

Last time I was here was over 20 years ago. Nostalgia brought me back. I brought my oldest son with me. The only real disappointment was the the marionettes were no longer there. I went expecting the same clown burger experience, and was pleasantly surprised. Food was not very slow. Burgers were great, just like I remembered. Fries were tasty. Will define be back. Not sure why people are are hating on it, it’s not gourmet, it’s still the same hole in the wall.

Giving this a 5 star review because the food was very good. The portion size on a Large burger was very small, the bacon was a little pathetic and $6.25 for a single order of Onion Rings for about 7 Rings was a little much. I get it they’re running a business and need to make money.Not asking for anyone to change however for the price compared to portion size I likely won’t be coming back

The old Clown Burger is no more. I have been now 3 times since the new owner took over and it isn’t as good as it once was. They don’t grill the bun crispy like they used to, the fries are not as good. Still a pretty decent burger. Used to be amazing. I will probably stop going as it just isn’t worth the drive and wait for me.

Established 1959 in Halton City is a minute ago. Passed by the current location for once while open and when I desired sustenance. Yep, clown burger. Mark it off the list of need to try based on locals nostalgic recommendations. Don't expect taste bud clairvoyance.

I've always been a fan of Clown Burger. I still want to be. Hadn't visited in a while due to covid and work. When entering, immediately my eyes went to the trail from door to counter. I'm totally grossed out when your shoes stick to the floor and there is just crud on the the floor around the entry. Table was sticky. It was not busy. My rating is based on cleanliness.

If you're like some of the other reviewers looking for a 5 star course created by Gordon Ramsey himself, go somewhere else. If you're looking for some classic, delicious burgers and amazing fries with tons of history surrounding you, this is the place to go. I happily travel from Euless to Haltom to buy their food. Yes, they have stated hours but the food they prep is not necessarily going to last for the stated hours. If they sell out of what they've prepped, they've had a amazingly busy day and deserve the pride of selling out and closing early. The owners are normal people just like their customers. They're keeping a tradition alive and are more than allowed to do as they see fit with prep, selling, and closing if/when need be. Clown burger has been and will be a staple of the community surrounding it who understand how life can be when you own a business and have a life outside of it. 5 stars for food, and keeping the tradition and history alive. Full stop.

I know it's a local institution. Fine, we all love what we grew up with. However in today's day and age it struggles to compete. The burger was above average in flavor but the patties were paper thin. The price to stuff ratio just doesn't pencil. I could have had twice the burger for the same price from several area places. The interior needs either a good cleaning or possibly a small fire and complete remodel. You can be the judge.

I have been coming here since the late 60's. This by far is the best burger place in the country. Cooked hot and fresh including their fries. Best prices anywhere. Worth the drive from anywhere in Fort Worth. This place needs to be on DDD!

Classic thin burger patties. Burgers are pretty decent. Large double cheeseburger. French fries are tasty. Elvis memorabilia on the walls. Few tables inside. Limited days and hours at the moment. Thought staff was friendly, contrary to some negative reviews.

Atmosphere is great. Not everything needs to be new and shiny. Problem is the price and food. It was $12 for a smaller burger, small fries, and a can of come. Burger was dry and bun had an odd texture.

Walked in to a Filthy floor. Tables not wiped off. Definitely NOT the clown burger I grew up loving. Two ladies working were not friendly at all. French fries were sub par. Not really cooked and not hot but warm. Burger was nothing special. Sure Miss Bills cooking. He WAS ALWAYS such a nice man.

Would to Thank you for how awesome everything was today..my and I have also enjoyed going there because the hamburgers and fires are always hot and fresh.Service was great!
