First time in. Large menu with good variety. I tried steak fingers and mashed potatoes. Steak fingers and gravy were very good. Mashed potatoes would have been good but all I could taste was the salt in them. Fries others were having looked quite good, so I'll opt for those next time. Very clean. Enclosed Patio was lovely. I'm looking forward to going back!

Burger was great. Bartender is overworked and gets no help. They are in charge of alcohol, to go orders, and snow cones… as well as placing food orders… people who see a line at the entrance come and raid the bar with orders to bypass the line… only thing is it causes the bar to be overloaded and people wait 10+ minutes to get their to go orders. Owner needs to hire a process consultant to update their ways. TABC would also freak out here as they allow kids to sit at the bar.

This place is so good. The parking is a bit tricky, and does require a bit of skill but once you make it inside it is all worth it!!! The burgers, tots and chicken strips all made fresh and soooo flavorful.

My hamburger was not cooked all the way through. Everyone's burger was only slightly pink while mine was barely cooked. At least it wasn't cold in the middle.

On the pricey side but well worth it. Everything is ala carte from what we could see. The food was excellent. The portions where big. So while they are pricey the quality and amount of food is worth it.

Live very close to the lovers lane location and go here at least once or twice a week. The burgers are great. The wings though are amazing so crispy every time. Go here order anything and enjoy

Driven by it 1000 times. Stopped in the area today for parts and stopped by. Ordered a 1/2lb burger with caramelized onions and bacon. Forgot to ask for cheese. I usually don’t eat all of my food at lunch and have to ask for a to go container. Not here. Tasted great

Stopped by here today having heard about this place. Upon arriving this restaurant has that old fashioned family run business feel to it. The restaurant was very clean and it did not take long to place an order. My father who joined me went to another location a while back, and had wanted to try this place too. The food did take some time to come out despite us being one of 5 other tables at the restaurant, four of which had food already. The food did arrive hot and fresh though, and everything was very good for the price paid. The beef and fries were also perfectly seasoned, not too much, but just the right amount to balance the seasoning to the beef flavor. The staff here was friendly too and treated us well during our time eating here, and definitely had feeling if a family run business rather than a big corporate restaurant. Overall, I recommend this restaurant, it's an experience in itself that's worth trying.

Wanted to try a handmade hamburger place, not a franchise. This place delivered a fresh 1/3 lb burger with delicious flavor. Sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and thw chocolate shake was a treat.

Disappointing. The food was adequate, but the procedures are outright fraudulent. We ordered a drink in the bar (no blended scotch BTW) and were given a price. I handed the bartender my credit card. The receipt came back with a different, higher, price. Bartender shrugged...."it's in the system." If an establishment is going to charge a higher price to use a credit card, they need to let you know. What Chips does is VERY SNEAKY. Perhaps they hope customers will not notice. We wont be back!PS: after reading further reviews where customers complained of similar upcharges, the owner says there are signs advising this. I saw no signs. The attitude of the employees is disheartening...a shrug doesn't do it.

It's the original CHIPS. The atmosphere is great. The staff is friendly. The food was fantastic. It was fast hot and fresh. We sat at the bar on a Saturday around noon. That's when it starts to get busy.

Had a delicious bison burger with bacon and cheese. I could taste the quality. Few places does cheesy fries good but chips knocked it out of the park. The cheese was gooey and had bacon on top. And to make things better I had a Creamsicle shake. Great meal just the surrounding area was iffy. None of the crosswalk buttons work but that's not chips fault. Amazing food wide space to socially distance.

The burger was well prepared but the patty had no flavor no salt.Milkshake was decent although it wasn't worth $5.Basically tasted like a Wendy's frosty with squirted caramel on top.Tater tots were cafeteria grade. You could do better from the freezer section at the grocery store.

I have been looking everywhere in Dallas for shoestring onions. They had them! I got the French dip and Ray got the quesadillas. Everything was great. Service was great and friendly.

Nice little quaint place . Haven't been here in at least 10 years. Burgers are pretty good nice and juicy. Get the onion nest. Those are the best around. The customer service could improve a bit as most transactions do not end in a smile nor a thank you. Also please use extreme caution when entering the parking lot. There's a pot hole there that's sure to jar your spine!

Great old-school burger joint! Even though I had the philly steak sandwich...which was one of the best since the ones I had in Philly. They pack the meat, cheese, peppers, and onion into an awesome roll. Their tater tots were great too: crispy and well seasoned. Cudos to Moises, who was genuinely friendly and seems to really care about the customers.In the words of the Terminator...I'll be back!

Ventured on down to Chips yesterday for some lunchtime, greasy burger love & wasn't at all disappointed. This 30 year old burger joint on W Lovers has some seriously mean burgers.We settled in by the bar just after 1pm & were immediately confronted with one of the most impressive burger menus I've seen in recent memory. With extensive ingredients allowing you to build your own burger, the options made me feel like a kid in a candy store.Because I consistently have an issue with over ordering everywhere I eat (the struggle is real!), I ordered the 1/2 pound cheeseburger on their famous Poppyseed Bun, with caramelised onions, bacon, mushrooms & a fried egg. My friend, on the other hand, ordered the 'Burger of the Day' which, while similar, included a grilled poblano pepper & balsamic red onions, sans egg. A Chocolate Malt Shake, a side of Tots & Shoestring Fried Onions were also thrown into the mix because, hell... what's a burger without sides & impulse ordering!The shake arrived first & immediately we were impressed with its super creamy texture & thick malty flavour. Truly a must order here at Chips & a perfect accompaniment to the greasiness that was in our future.When my burger hit the table shortly after, it became clear that this was truly a monster of my own creation. I was intimidated. It was everything I hoped it would be. Meaty, juicy & stacked with all of the yumminess that really made this burger my own. There was no other option but to cut this beast in half.On first bite the crunch of the pickles, sweetness of the onions & juiciness of the patty grabbed me immediately. This was a tasty, old-school burger. It was messy, greasy & had all of the elements I would expect from a burger that has graced Dallas's food scene now for going on three decades.The service here is also standout; the staff engaging, genuine & warm. Decidedly impressed. High five Chips, high five.
