Hinson's Drive-In

Went here with the family. We stepped through the door and I think the record skipped. Its not a diner. Its a bar. With that being said, decided to stay and eat. The food was on point and very good. Hamburger was cooked to perfection and the macaroni bites were awesome. Overall a good experience and would definitely eat there again.

Been looking at this place for easy 20 years never stopped in until today regret not stopping in 20 years ago this place is fantastic! Food, drink, an atmosphere. Plus apparently they do live music on Friday nights great hole in the wall.

Really is the best damn burger in town. Locally owned little burger joint. Not much to look at and the tiddy bar next door is a turn off, but worth the while to traverse the weird roads behind the dealership, and away from the community College. Gotta visit at least once.

Dalton is great!!!! Family owned business in the cut that I accidentally stumbled upon. Great burgers great chili great conversation and if I’m EVER in the area I’ll definitely come back again!!!!

Diamond in the rough!!If you want quality red ripe tomatoes when others have no clue what one is. Check out Hinson's. He is a good ol' southern gentleman who will cure that stomach rumbling. I personally love the hot dogs.

One of the few family owned & operated bar/restaurants that has survived the construction boom in the Indian Trail/Stallings area. Prices are good, staff is very friendly & welcoming, and the food is delicious! Also, serves the coldest beer in town! 10/10 DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

Yes, yes, 100%. I sat in this gravel drive and phoned in my order. 15 minutes later I'm sitting here eating tater tots and one of the best burgers I've ever had. I think they have some seating inside, but I didn't want to go in. I just wanted to eat and fly (but didn't want a fast food chain). I will definitely be back.

I have been seeing this place for years off of Hwy 74 so I found their number & placed a order for a couple of chili dogs. Those were the best dogs I have had in years! I recommend you try them out. It's back in the cut so don't be scared to go back there!

It's a family owned & operated nostalgic atmosphere hamburger ? joint. Pool table, dart board,a place to see friends , enjoy a beer and a burger or other tasty meal.The restaurant was established in 1954 and celebrsting 65 years in business. Is a favorite spot for fellowship, meeting a mix of interesting folks ! The owner cooks & his daughter waits on all the customers!Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere with lots of fast food options.

When i say run i mean run, run towards this restaurant and get yourself some grub because this place has it all. Its such a personable and homely feeling when you walk in, its like going through your friends backdoor and grabbing a hotdog off the grill. Love this place deeply.

Go "back in time" and experience a remnant hometown, small, family-run DIVE diner which has survived (on its own merits) encroaching highways and development for 60+ years!!!Highly recommend any of the burgers, or the German sausage and kraut, with a side of onion rings or deep fried mushrooms with horseradish.Make a point of taking a drive and seeking this place out. You will not be disappointed. Great prices on everything including beer. Laney and Ellie are the perfect hosts/servers/cooks. Super friendly folks who make your feel at home. I plan to go back weekly to try more of the menu. Looking forward to it ?.

1st timer. Friendly family owned business. A lot of history behind it. We really felt welcomed. Everything we ordered was so delicious. We loved the food. It was made with love. We definitely will be back to try some other menu items. You can see it from the highway and not hard to find.

I went there Friday with some friends. Hinson's has been there since the earth cooled. We always stopped there on way to the beach when I was growing up. Great dogs, burgers, etc. Great fast friendly service and great prices.

Hole in the wall dive bar that makes awesomely delicious burgers. The cook is cool and the staff friendly. The burger is cooked to perfection and the sides complement it very well. Glad I found this joint.

I started coming here with my pops when I was 7 or 8 years old (almost 30 years ago) and these are still the best cheeseburgers I have ever eaten. The crinkle fries are perfectly crispy and soft in the middle. Phil splits the hotdogs before cooking them on the flat top grill. Sweet tea is on point. I mean it doesn't get any better. I am now bringing my kids here and they love everything about it too.

This has been there for a while. Everything is made to order and you can see it. Our food took over 30min. Has an authentic southern feel to it and everyone is super friendly. Service was honest and the food was good. No real healthy options. Plenty of gravel parking out back. BBC

Called the order in for pickup.Best burger, frys and sweet tea!!Real beef patty made to order, never had NC slaw on a cheese burger before. Absolutely delicious. Great hot dogs. Everything was cooked fresh while we waited, so the wait was a little longer than you might expect, but so worth it.Definitely a hole in the wall place, don't let that scare you. We will for sure go back.

Phil is always welcoming. It has a "Cheers" TV show atmosphere, with out the liquor to only has the coldest beer around. His hamburgers and Hotdogs are the best around. We love it there, great friends, good food and great atmosphere. Thank you Phil, we hope to see you soon! ☺️

We're on vacation, driving from Wilmington to Asheville, and I was jonesing hot dogs. So I found this place in Google maps and wow, excellent hot dogs and sides. Even my usual drink, unsweetened iced tea, was great. Not bitter, fresh tasting. Highly recommend.

There is a reason Hinsons has been around for 65 years.Local dive with American comfort food. Cooked fresh to order. Parking in the front is for cycles. Park in the back. Many patrons have been here for years. Don't feel intimidated! Just go in grab a seat and put in an order. Excellent place to come grab a beer and relax if you're local.

Do NOT let this place fool you, it may look older HOWEVER it has a 95 A rating which is better than some newer upscale places! The people were incredibly nice and the owner was as well! The FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! If I could give this place a 10 I would for sure! I’ve been thinking of the cheeseburger I had last night, ALL DAY! It had been YEARS since I had a burger that good!!! The crinkle cut FF were great too which are my personal favorite! We WILL be regulars here now! A LITTLE HIDDEN GEM! Thank you Mr. Hinson for providing the community with outstanding service and food!

I can say this with the utmost confidence that Hinson's has the best burger in the state. Anything on the menu is a safe choice. If you haven't come here to eat, then you haven't lived.

Great hot dogs, great service! I had the kraut dog and.my husband got his all the way. Both of us wish we had ordered two! Even though it was pouring down rain, the cook offered to bring it out to us but my husband declined and went up and got it (we had an umbrella!). Great people!

For me this is the best burger in Charlotte. You just don't see too many places like Hinsons these days. Mr. Hinson is a good man and will treat you right always.

The best of the best. This is the Chuck Norris of all burgers. Best burger I’ve had ever. And boy, I’ve had my share of a burgers. The burgers aren’t messy when you eat ‘em and the buns are always toasted with perfection. My favorite is the fire burger 10/10 ! BOO YAH!

I stopped in because it was listed on GoogleIt is a little hard to get to since 74 is no longer friendly, but I will go back next time I am at Scott Clark’s for an oil change. The Burger was really good. The place reminds me of a mom & pop bar with very friendly staff. I will stop in for burger and brew in 5000 miles

Great place, a hidden gem! Recommend a chili slaw dog with mustard and onions. Chicken wings are good too! Chili and slaw are made in house and the prices are even better!

Hinson's is great! Had an excellent hot dog there. Made right in front of you. Everyone there is very pleasant. It's a small bar, so there may not be enough space to eat there depending on the time. But it's a drive-in and you can call ahead and place an order to take away. They have TV's for the game or race and plenty of beer. In one word: Authentic! Enjoy!

Great food!! I usually get the garden burger, which is the burger with lettuce, tomato and it is superb. They also have beer available too. They have a pretty wide variety of sandwiches and salads as well.

In these times when the norm is not normal I am doing a small part in helping the small business man. Today I called in an order at Hinson's for his always delicious hamburger and hot fries - a takeout of course. The food was hot and delicious as expected and he received his warm greeting on the patio - I didn't even have to go in. Of course he is doing that for the benefit of his customers and employees - a great example we all can follow. I highly recommend his food and service and doing whatever we can to help each other out during these challenging times. Peace and good health to all. . . . .
