Went for a shake and it was absolutely fantastic! I got a small chocolate malt and my son got a medium chocolate malt.$16 was our total. Great shake but really expensive.

I'm not entirely sure how this place has survived the corporatization of burger joints, but I am extremely thankful it has. This is one of those burger places that make you seriously question the existence of places like Burger King that sell garbage. No sane person would choose a fast food chain over this place.The food is tasty and doesn't sit in your stomach like lead and the inside of the place is kind of cute and colorful. In terms of the burger, the patty is a good size and they're not stingy with the toppings. Their bacon is blessedly not hard and chewy, but crisp and juicy. They put cucumbers instead of pickles on my burger and was confused at first, but it definitely works. I was weary about the crinkle cut fries since that can sometimes be an indication that they're just store bought frozen ones that are bland, but nope, their fries are fantastic.My only critique is it would be nice to get a larger serving container so there's an easy place to put your sauces for your fries. Either that or those little dipping sauce thimbles to put them in. This is a pretty common problem though and I've just learned to make do with the back of a wrapper.I don't live around here and was only in town for a few days for work, but this was legitimately the best food I had around here and yall better keep this place in business. It truly deserves it.

It was as good as I remember. The place was very clean, the staff was very friendly. Our food was prepared fast. I was a little surprised how much it was for a burger, large fries and a large shake. Good food.

I like asking for a half-cherry half-chocolate shake. So far, I only got one once via the drive thru. It might take more time to make, so I am not bummed if I get just cherry or just chocolate. They are delicious, either way.Decent veggies options include Fried Zucchini: so, I am happy when my "meat-a-tarian friend" want to go here. I do not know if that is vegan-friendly, I recommend not complaining about that here.As for me, I just do not want to get any chubby-er liking the food so much.In terms of atmosphere, the place reminds me of the boys in my elementary school down the road. (Definitely Former, and plausibly current, customers of Beef'n'Bun)I think I would like to pull the same pranks on the kids of the boyz in my class that they used to pull on me, but I don't and won't.Everyone there is respectful enough, and this place is not like that at this age, anyway.

Excellent food!! I ordered fried fish and french fries. Excellent!! I had tarter sauce and malt vinegar . French fries are crinkle cut and beefy not dehydrated. I was given enough ketchup to cover all the french fries.

The oreo milk shake I had was the best I have ever tasted. The crinkle cut fries are really good, and the bacon cheeseburger was also very good. Kinda out of the way but well worth it. Highly recommend even just for the shakes.

Sad to leave this review cuz I’ve always loved Beef N Bun. I live close by. Used to be a great spot for burgers, but something changed and the food is inconsistent now. Tonight my burger was sooo salty, it was pretty much inedible. I have no idea how that much salt was put in without it being a mistake of some sort. Super bummed cuz I waited in the drive-thru for quite a while. I only ordered 2 things.They do, however, have very good milkshakes and floats. They used to come in a different style of cup though, the cups were changed at some point and now the serving size is really small considering the price.The staff are usually really nice, I saw another review here saying that the guy with the ponytail is great, and I agree! He was very friendly and polite. Give him a raise.

This burger is all potential and very little action. It's a fine entry into the drive through burger world. But, the best part was the bun. The rest was nothing worth writing home over. It's better than chain fastfood, but not at that price.

When ordering a large order which includes ice cream, please do not serve ice cream first if it will take 10 -15 minutes to receive remainder of the order. The ice cream should be the last item to serve. It was partially melted when I got home and the lid came off and ice cream was all over the inside of the bag. Not smart at all.

Beef n Bun has been around forever EVER...They were my go to place for a quick bite after school. During my elementary, middle, and high-school years.Employees have always been super friendly and welcoming.Working hard to bang out orders.Now I only come here for their fried zucchini and ice cream treats.Can't say anything about their other food.Their fried zucchini is the BEST I've ever had.They are crispy and tender with loads of flavor. So good I drive all the way over here just to get my fix.Also their milkshakes and cones are so good.Creamy and delicious.Just writing this makes me want to take a trip and feed my fix.

Went to the drive thru last week. Took about 30 min for 4 cars. I know prices for everything went up but 2 burger combos with shakes and an order of Chicken strips and fries was $42! The burgers were disappointing, not as good as in the past. Maybe it was a bad night. They forgot to substitute my onion rings and gave me fries even though I paid to upgrade. Shakes are bomb. We will skip the burgers next time. Chicken strips were better than the burgers.

A local landmark that I grew up going to, and my parents grew up going to. Burgers are quite good, all the fried goodness is hard to go wrong with, with the fish and chips being a standout. But, the thing to not miss out on are the shakes. They remain the benchmark for proper burger shop shakes for me, after more years than I care to count.

Service is great, but was surprised to find food to be only ok if you think old roadside hamburger stand. Bland crinkle fries, very plain burger. I can make a tastier burger at home. Did hear that shakes are great, but did not try that and would not return for this quality of food.

Beef n buns is an old fashioned hamburger diner with old style soda jerk shakes and burgers that reminded me of how mom used to make them. The poor clerk at the cash register that took my order had to listen to my Darth Vader jokes about me waiting in the bathroom because the sign said “employees must wash hands” I waited and waited but no employee came to wash my hands. They have the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. The food still tastes like it did back in the 80's when I first started eating there. Only complaint is the parking sucks and the poor little fish looked lonely in that big tank and yes I did notice there was an eel in there with him but he still looked lonely to me. The shakes and the malts are delicious and the fried zucchini is much better than what you get at the Del Mar Fair, (I know, that's no longer the name of the fair but it will always be the Del Mar Fair and Racetrack to me.) If you like fish and chips the bucket of fish is well worth the $30 bucks.

I think the reviews are way over inflated with nostalgia factor. The reality is that the food is subpar, and I HATE saying that since the man who I assume is the owner is so nice and lively.First time here. Got the monster burger which taste extremely similar to in n out, but for 16 dollars. It's a regular burger with 3 patties. I was really hoping for more of a specialty burger with some sort of special sauce or ingredients for this price.I don't normally get shakes so my opinion is kinda invalid, but I enjoyed the mocha shake.Fried Zucchini (pictured) is not what you'd expect. I respect the portion. It's 5 quartered whole zucchinis. Not pickled and cut up like normal. Zucchini and batter could use seasoning, because I had to dunk it in ranch every bite.Personally not a fan of crinkle cut fries either. Will always just remind me of frozen ones from the market. Soft and squishy.The service and atmosphere is good, but burger is a way below standard for the price.

We were disappointed. We had two orders of the fish and chips and an order of zucchini and two drinks. There was so much batter on fish couldn't taste fish. It also tasted like they changed the recipe to the batters. You still get a big order on the zucchini but it all wasn't as good as it was before. We got two soft serve ice cream cones and that was the best of our meal to say. Sorry.

The burgers are my favorite in San diego. The strawberry shake is amazingly delicious. Service could take a little bit longer but it's due to everything being made fresh. Staff is always friendly. Place is always clean.

I've been coming here my entire life, and it's fantastic, best shakes, and burgers! I have one criticism... PLEASE change back your fried zucchini. It now has a fluffy batter, which isn't as good. We love it here so much!

YES - TRY IT!I've been enjoying the "Old Fashioned Charm" of Beef 'n Bun for over 30 years! The quality of both service & food has never disappointed me! They take a bit longer then the average fast food place because they make everything Fresh to Order with REAL food ingredients not artificial flavors & food-like products. Insider tip- Order ahead online & it will be ready when you get there if you're in a hurry.Don't forget to ask what the shake of the month is! I recommend asking for it malted - yeah, they make malts too! Soooo Good.Even with the recent price increase, I appreciate how hard the owners have worked to keep costs down without compromising the quality - I haven't found many restaurants around here lately that can compare.Shout out to the Server that helped us last Monday! Jonelle will probably never forget the 1st PB, Banana, Chocolate & Bacon Milkshake ? the whole team there that night was a DELIGHT.

Well this was a hard one for me! The food is absolutely off the charts amazing probably one of the best hamburgers in Southern California! Way way better than In-N-Out! The only thing that definitely knocked the stars down to three is strictly based on the staff! It’s almost as though to be an employee of beef and bun you had to have a single digit IQ! You think I’m joking but I am being completely 100% serious! But let’s not focus on the -ones again the food is absolutely amazing the milkshakes are to die for so in all reality I will deal with the single digit a huge individual if you have the reward of the beef and bun amazing!

One of my favorite burger and shake spots. I always get the bacon cheeseburger and shake combo and it's always delicious. This is definitely a must-go-to place in SD. Great service, great food, and great prices.

Honestly,years since I had been to BNB- going back to my college yrs!?! So I dropped in for Cheeseburger,Fries & Choc Shake combo! Very busy drive thru! It did not disappoint once I received my food. I don't live too far,but munched on fries on the way- hot & tasty! Cheeseburger was perfect!Because I am careful with sugar consumption,I only drank-well,spooned-part of shake until the next time! Maintained well in freezer! Yum..will be back!

This place is so good! I've done drive thru and in person. Drive thru does take a while, but it's worth the wait. The interior is surprisingly spacious. They have really good burgers. I get three patty monster burger. Their fries and shakes are fantastic too. Fletcher Hills Hidden Gem!
