The Weevil Burger Restaurant

So, its an old school burger joint with comfy diner booths and sweet, scatterbrained waitresses. Don't come here if you're in a rush.Food is greasy but, mostly, in a good way. Fries are basic but you can dress them up with the AWESOME condiment tray (see picture). Ask for mayo. Portions are big!This place is perfect for watching sports/ football with their beer picher specials and huge viewing screen. They have a few draft beer options and plenty of domestic options as well as tasty milkshakes and root beer floats.They have a tiny arcade section with a billiard table in the back. Huge parking lot.I threw everything up later that night BUT it was probably a new medication I was on and the huge beer I forced myself to consume.

Great value for money and really fantastic old school place to get food. The gyro sandwich for 3.99 was incredible value and really tasty.

I watched on server dig in her ear and the other blow her nose while serving drinks. The only good thing I can say is the food was really good.

Burgers were okay. It's a lot of food. You could probably share a burger with a friend. It was about $20 per person.

EXCELLENT burgers and fries. Our waitress was very cheerful and accomodating.The only gripe I have is the absolute dearth of non-alcoholic beer selections (with the exception of O'Doul's?) in ALL restaurants. Local restaurants should take better care of their customers who prefer alternatives besides plain water or soda.

Been going to this location off and on since I was a kid. Burgers are tasty and so are sandwiches. The prices can be high on some items , but overall not too bad. They have multiple daily specials that can help with the cost of going out. They have multiple games in the back and a coin machine.

We have always enjoyed the Weevil. They do a great job with the simple food they serve, and they manage to reproduce the shabbiness of downmarket 70s style dining. Which is kind of unappreciated these days. Lots of older people and young families eat here. It is the kind of place that knows what it is, and the customers know what it is, so nobody has grandiose expectations. So it just kind of works, sans any pretense, mission statements, televisual menus, Apps, buzzers and cloying graphic design of newer chains. Refreshing really.

Nice family restaurant and good bar. Extremely friendly service and waiting staff, a neat arcade in the back and a smart use of space and tables. Under rated in my opinion.

Been coming here for few years now and TBH have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and accommodating! Excellent prices for HH and their food is consistent and good.

As someone who’s lived close to La Mesa for more than 20 years, I REALLY wanted to love this place… unfortunately, it was disappointing. I went and seated myself and asked the waitress to give me a couple minutes to order since I’ve never been here…. She proceeded to leave me alone for almost 20 minutes. I was about 30 seconds away from getting up when she finally came and took my order… I’m not sure if it was intentional or an oversight but it felt passive aggressive, especially since it wasn’t busy at all. A plus is that the food came quickly- I got a guacamole burger and fries and the burger was ok… the guac was a tiny spoonful of mashed avocado with no seasoning, so that was disappointing. However, the patty itself was flavorful and having an entire condiment tray given at the table was a plus since you had everything you needed. All that said, I will give this place another try and hope it’s better the second time around!

2/3/23. Had a hotdog and fries and it never disappoints. Great seeing my favorite server Maddy as well. Always with a smile and kind words. Next time I'll try to take a picture of the food before I scarf it down :0)You walk in here and you're always greeted with a smile. It's like you're stepping into a time where things were less complicated. Food was good and Maddie is great!

2nd year that the staff held a reservation for me to be able to host our annual Christmas party. I wanted to do this 3 years ago, but, like many places, COVID situation postponed any scheduling of get together with family and friends.We ALL had a great time, celebrating and we also included some of the staff members to participate. We do plan another celebration soon. ? Thank you!!!

Really good burgers. Salads are too small for the price. We had 7 orders of fries... all of them were undercooked. Service was good, and timely.

This place is moderately priced for a burger joint. Ther burger is very good, the condiment tray is cool. The Texas cheese fries were so-so. The cheese sauce was the part that wasn't that great. The brownie sundae called the chocolate moo would've been great if there would've been more than 2 1/2 bites of brownie. When I told the waitress that I didn't care for the fries she became salty for the rest of our visit. I never asked for my money back or anything but she was salty anyways. Oh well, we'll try a different time of day.

We as a family celebrate at least one Birthday a year here. Friendly staff with pool tables and Alcohol for Adults and games for kids. The food is very reasonable in price and tasty.

The environment was nice and quiet. Our food was prepared just like ordered, perfect burgers well well done, bacon crispy and the buns nice and toasted. Thumbs up to the chef. The waitress was pleasant and on top of things, professional. It's a long way to come from Imperial Beach but all worth it,we will return

Had lunch with my Mom at The Weevil Burger Restaurant which is walking distance from home, still the same great taste as Boilweevil which we haven't eaten in years. Thanks to both awesome waitresses there, they made sure our visit was a pleasant one. We'll be back soon ?

Today was 100° out. Boll weivels known to have a/c. Stopped in an OMW.. Icebox. Ordered 1/4 lb mushroom burger. Onion Rings. Of course all u can eat pickles, chili peppers, red onions. 14.99$ . Prices increased but I paid for the a/c..

American oldschool vibe. That being said, the food is fine, the service is fine, theres games for kids and pool table. All its missing is a jukebox but I guess those days are done. Stop in and pull up a seat when you want a break from all the new dining places your visiting!!

Friday is 1/2 off on appetizers so that was cool but, it was salty so 4 stars and not 5. I honestly would also prefer onion rings over the chicken pieces for a bigger variety. Oh yeah, I'm talking about the sampler platter. The garlic bread was BOOOOOOOOOMB and I think they make they're own croutons which were equally as scrumptious. Soup was bland. Burgers were good, nothing superb but way better than any fast food joint. They also bring a tray of condiments to your table which I loved. A tub of pickles, another of onions, one of relish and lastly one of peppers. Service was excellent!

Heidi is the best! Knows our order to the T every time and makes sure no drink reaches the bottom. She is always cheerful and keeps it so clean! The kids love the arcade and can't wait for it to open it again. They gave out coloring sheets and loads of crayons to entertain them in the mean time!

Great place!!!! Always really nice. I became a celiac(wheat allergy) take your bun in and they will prepare it for you. But just a reminder, they do fry their fries with the onion rings. Good food, Good service.

Walked right in. Sat at a table( yes inside) ordered our food. The waitress brought us our drinks right away go our food really fast. The place is clean, the waitresses are funny and friendly. Cant wait to go have another burger soon.

I had not been to the restaurant for a long time but I was plesently surprised by the whole experience. It was not busy but the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food was very good. I had a Steerburger and my wife had the shrimp basket they turned out to be good choices. By the way the place was very clean and orderly.
