The quality and size of the food I received was not proportional to the price that the merchant charged. I was disappointed to see how high their prices were, considering their status as a local burger joint in a lower-income area. Only one or two burgers had a price tag of less than $10, with most approaching $15. The burgers were okay, but I've had bigger burgers from other places for a similar price.Furthermore, this merchant has a 4% surcharge on ALL debit/credit transactions, which is extremely excessive and deterring. Not to mention it violates Visa's official Merchant Surcharging Considerations and Requirements.

This is one of the best burger places in Phoenix. The burger quality is great and you don't have to wait too long to get your food. I like that you can get all your condiments separately too.

Fantastic eclectic restaurant. Food was tasty and plentiful. Easy to walk up and order and wait for your meal. I liked the condiment bar for all your toppings. You can either sit on the bar side or restaurant. The decor is great.Definitely a staple restaurant in Phoenix to try.

Loved everything that came out of the kitchen ordered a burger meal and fried zucchini enjoyed the food will be back the employee working the regestered was very rude and blunt didn't even look like he was happy to be at work other than that will highly recommend to friends.

Burger was excellent, homemade patty. Ordered waffle fries as the regular fries did not look so great. Waffle fries were just ok…need to step up their fry game.

This is the second restaurant I have dined at that I found on the AZCentral's 100 essential Phoenix restaurants. Both of the restaurants IMHO are underwhelming, Rito's and Orginal Hamburger Works.Sunday two of us had a late lunch consisting of two classic hamburgers, one small fry and two pints of beer, $40.00 total. The burgers and beers were good, but there are lots of places with good burgers and beers. Original Hamburger Works is a rustic serve yourself operation. We felt it was expensive for what was served

It's a bit like fudruckers. However, Food was not very flavorful-of Average quality. The establishment seemed to be a popular. There was a line to order and food took a while to be prepared.

The guy taking our order was rude and impatient. We would ask questions about the menu and he seemed like it was an inconvenience to him. Food is good but definitely not going back

Bar service almost non existent. No cutlery with food, burger was wrong and not served with the fries.....space was tight in the booths and it was serve yourself soda, condiments, napkins.....well everything but the food.

Just flew in and was taken here for lunch. Hidden gem, no advertisement if you aren't a local you won't find it. Worth the stop. Self serve condiment bar. Great burgers

Went here for lunch on a Friday and they were pretty busy which is always a good sign. Ordered quickly and didn’t have much of a wait for food. This was by far the best burger I’ve had in a while and def the best I’ve had in all of AZ. Super friendly staff and love the condiments bar so you can put whatever you like on your burger. I got the border burger. Everything is cooked over a real wood fire!

Bravo ! If you ever heard of the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover.", the same can be said for this place. The burger was one of the best I ever had. The staff were focused and friendly to say the least. Wait, there is more, it was CLEAN and with plenty of seating options and prices that won't empty your bank account. You will definitely give this place FIVE STARS !

Surprisingly great burgers and a huge toppings bar. I even liked the fries. Will definitely be back! Just a note, this is not a fast food place. It took about 10 minutes for my burger to be ready but it was worth every second!

neighborhood place that's been anchored here for decades. food is great...atmosphere is comfortable. Food is cooked to order...grilled over coals...sides are simple and follow the neighborhood burger joint lead. the restaurant is split there is the restaurant side and bar/sports bar side. Give this place a try and enjoy a part of the Encanto Neighborhoods history.

We really enjoyed our experience here! The burgers were charbroiled to perfection. They had pretty large portions for the price, and had great visual presentation of the food. They have a toppings bar, which makes out easy for you to make it just how you want it. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and the booths are quite spacious. All the themed decor they have up on their walls, makes for a nice ambience.

UPDATE -We asked for a combo with a another side of fries. The order taker charged us for the combo that comes with fries but wasn't going to give us the fries, one of us just wanted fries so that's all the fries we were going to get. So one of us wasn't going to get her fries. ?Instead of charging us for just a chicken sandwich and a large order of fries, she was charging us for a combo without fries and a large order...sheesh! She was also very crabby and lacked customer service skills.The burger was tasty and moist, the music was great and the fries were terrific. We also had some fried zucchini that was very good too

This place has been here forever. They sadly don't have the pacman game/table anymore lol. There food is mesquite grilled and the employees are very nice and helpful. You get to choose all your burger toppings and condiments at the condiment bar. But bbq sauce does cost extra. Fried Zuchini and the chili cheese fries are fire!

I worked just down the road from this place for over 20yrs and this was a lunch spot on our rotation so I ate here hundreds of times. The food is always consistent. The burgers are fresh and grilled over an open fire. They give you plenty of fries with your meal. Their ranch dressing is terrific on the fries! Really good fried zucchini and onion rings. I like the chicken sandwiches. Large fresh grilled chicken breast, not deep fried. You can make the chicken with BBQ sauce, buffalo sauce, teriyaki sauce with a pineapple slice, Italian dressing, or plain. None of them disappoint! I prefer the BBQ sauce. The fish & chips are also a good choice, you'll be stuffed if you finish the plate?. If you become a regular ask for a punch card, your 10th burger or chicken combo will be free ?.

An interesting experience. Ordered the 1/2 pound burger with 1 pound of fries. The burger was excellent and I could probably have eaten the larger one. So I filled up on fries instead, indeed I couldn't finish them all.A couple of incidents marred the occasion. Dining there with friends, the first thing we noticed was they abruptly stopped taking orders citing an emergency in the kitchen, and one of our party had not gotten to place their order yet.The emergency became apparent as the place began to fill with smoke. Apparently the exhaust fan over the grill had stopped. We had to open the back doors to ventilate the place as all the staff seemed to be in the kitchen. Eventually things settled down bit I'm not sure my friend got their food.The other incident was when another of my friends found a piece of glass in their fries. They got their fries replaced but it was disturbing all the same.

Nice that the bar & restaurant are separated. There's free shared parking with multiple businesses on site. Food is general bar fare. Made fresh to order. Would be nice if they freshened the place up & have better restroom facilities. It's old & needs some fixing.

First time here, this place gets busy as soon as it opens! I ordered the classic burger with jalapeño Jack, mushrooms and bacon, with zucchini on the side, unfortunately they did not have onions rings which was my initial choice. Great selection of soda to choose from. The mesquite flavor beef patty went well with the vintage atmosphere! I wasn’t jumping for joy at the condiment bar, it’s just not my thing. Overall I’ll definitely be coming back when I’m want delicious burger and I’m in the area!
