Quality burger 🍔 locally made to order that really hit the spot.I ordered the San Franciscan:Applewood Smoked Bacon, blue cheese, grilled onions, green leaf lettuce. Added fries and drink into a combo meal.Everything was spot on and served hot.Had Indoor and outdoor south facing seating.

My husband and I randomly ordered burgers from here and we were not disappointed! I ordered a vegetarian meat substitute burger and it was delicious. Every element was so fresh; the tomatoes, lettuce, bun, and sauce. We will definitely be back for more! My husband got a regular angus beef burger which he also loved. The fries were tasty as well. Highly recommend.

Great burger! I had their standard cheeseburger, the ingredients were high quality and the Dijon aioli was delicious and subtle. The place is cute too with a little patio to people watch on university ave.

I will rate this establishment based on presentation on food. The cook is very crafted with preparation and preparing the burgers as ordered or selected. The food is tasty , you just have the find the right combination of alternatives added, chesse,bacon, etc.Custom Services is dry as the hot area. Acknowledgement of hello and the rest is a combination of stare or waiting for you to order. It would also uniquely be helpful if they can say something that maybe interesting as far as favorites, local, or personally. Overall I give this place 4 stars for the taste, cook ? .Just go for the food. You're be satisfied.

Showed up on a Saturday evening and there was not much of a wait at all! Excellent sliders and right off of University Avenue so the street is thriving with the local night life.

The worst thing about this place is the napkins/paper towels. They do absolutely nothing to help with the loaded and delicious burgers. They are actually a liability.You're better off licking your fingers.Be sure to bring your own napkins.

Excellent food is a delight the hamburgers and potatoes are delicious and the staff is super friendly, in addition to the prices are very accessible. Excellent option, you can not stop going if you are in San Diego.

Ok, but nothing special. I was hoping for an excuse to tell people that In & Out is over-rated and to come here. But the burgers, while of good quality, we’re rather plain tasting. And very expensive with a below average location. (Parking hard to find, for one). So, overall….meh.

Meat was pretty rare, a little more so than I prefer. Was offered a combo, but when getting my drink there was no ice…and no warning. Prices were slightly higher than i imagined and in my experience, the buns were too big for the patty. I’d try this place again and ask that my patty get an extra couple of minutes.

Great burgers. Fair warning garlic fries are fries lathered in chopped garlic so don't order if you don't like raw garlic.

I had the LA burger and it was delicious. Had good flavors. Their garlic fries needed to cook for a bit longer to be crispy. Overall they were pretty quick with my order and had good quality flavors.

Update: bumped 4 to 5 stars after reflecting how much I'll miss Cali-O as I move elsewhereOriginal: This place is one of my go to spots living in NP. It's on the pricier side, but I really think it's reflected in the taste because the ingredients are quite good. The beef is the star and if you get a fancy burger, it will be overshadowed by the extra stuff. I get the GF bun and sweet potato fries and have never had any feeling of gluten contamination!

The food was good, albeit a tad on the oily side. Had sweet potato fries and a couple burgers. Not the most amazing spot. Giving three stars mostly because the fries were only so-so and the service was just alright. Not terrible. Burger was nice. Would recommend to someone who recognizes it’s important to eat organically sourced meat.

I had a single 1/3 burger. First smell and taste gave me a feeling like it was fresh off a backyard grill which was nice. However the meat needed more seasoning for sure. I struggled with whether or not to get up to put more sauce on my burger the whole meal, but unfortunately I was extremely lazy and tried to cope with ketchup instead.

The La J olla burger was so good and my fiance tried the Catalina burger also my kids said they loved their juicy burgers this was our first time trying this place out will definitely be coming back 2 thumbs up!!!

First time here.Nice afternoon lunch, absolutely. Had the Monterey Bay chicken sandwich. Very tasty, you have to love garlic and onion like I do. The only criticism is to pat dry the onions before putting on sandwich, sandwich was very soggy quickly. Returning? Absolutely!

Burger alone is over 12 dollars, if you like to make it a meal, it's an additional 6+ dollars. Worth it? Not in my opinion.

To be able eat indoors ends at 10 PM, not 11PM update your hours. Suddenly closed at 10PM and were rushing customers out.

I got the kids meal and a cookie and cream shake. The meal came with two little burgers with the option to include cheese. It also came with tater tots, and a drink. The kids loved their meal and the shake was good. The place was clean as well.

Wait time for carry out has been about 15-20 min on both occasions, I’ve visited. Food isn’t extraordinary… they do have like 5 options of fries, I’ve had the Parmesan and the sweet potato, both were alright, my boyfriend tried the tater tots, they were soft and kinda soggy?

We stopped in on thanksgiving day looking for a burger and found this place open. Customer service was awesome and we had our food in a few minutes. The burger was the best I have had in my life. I got the fransiscan. My parents also had and thot they were they best they ever had. I highly recommend this place.

Ordered online, showed up to pick up my order, was not transmitted on the system. Staff had to add my order manually and start making food after I arrived. Ordered veggie patty, not what I expected disappointed with restaurant and food.

I was pretty excited to try this place based on the reviews, but the burgers were really nothing spectacular. Can get better nearly anywhere around. And the flys inside and on the patio were awful. Staff were nice though :)

The elk burger is outstanding. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The sweet potato fries are delicious. It is a bit on the pricey side but what isn’t these days. I highly recommend Cali “O” for all your burger needs!

It's one of the best burgers I've ever had. The overall burger experience from your first bite to last is enough to make you drive back and order seconds. It melts in your mouth and is quickly devoured. It's the most carefully prepared, well thought out burger I've ever had. The burger names and ingredients are pretty catchy. This burger ranks second to a $30 wagyu burger from a 5 star restaurant but comes first in flare. Seriously try this place out if you're in the area.

Today was my second time trying this place. The burgers here are "meh" and today's was a bit wet, I'm guessing maybe from washing the lettuce, idk. One would think a place with "burgers" in the name would have great burgers, but they are only a very small step up from fast food drive thru honestly. Actually, Wendy's has a better burger than here. The staff were super friendly and helpful so they do have that going for them. Probably won't be coming back a third time to see if the quality improves unfortunately my

BEST burger place in San Diego. Friendly staff, AMAZING FOOD. It's perfect. The patties arent too salty and their sauces are BOMB. Simple and classic, and also surprises you with a little kick.

Burger was very good. Unfortunately the virus has really affected this place but they have outside seating which is great. They also have gluten free buns and brownies.Brownie was very dry. But enjoy the food. It's good.
