I've been coming to Charlie's for years, this place hits the spot no matter what time of day it is, the burgers and everything else is always on point, if you're looking for a good old fashioned burger and have a big appetite, I recommend you give Charlie's a try. You will NOT be disappointed

Really tasty, great quality burgers, and McDonald's style fries. However, I waited for them to open Sunday morning, and nobody showed up. So either the hours on here are wrong, or they just kind of show up when they want. Either way, I'm definitely coming back, way better than most of the burgers chains and about the same price.

I always get the Deluxe Cheeseburger or Deluxe Bacon Cheeseburger and they are always good. I love the sauce they put on them. My Wife and Mother in law got the Fish and Chips. My wife liked the fish but my mother in law didn't as she said it was glorified fish sticks. We all got shakes and they were very good as always.

I came here because this is my son's favorite fast food establishment in this area. I like that they gave me ample fries. There is usually all young people under 25 who work there. Their sanitation practices appear questionable at times with their cross -switching from cashier to food preparer without washing hands and using new gloves. The food is sufficient and the selection is sufficient

Charlie's has been in lower Spring Valley for decades. Little but like building with drive thru or walk up window. Order cooked there so a short wait. One of my on way home by bus stops or for family's dinner. Corn dogs big, melted cheese bacon or ham croissants, homemade unusual flavored & regs milkshakes. One problem & this is common of many goodies: drinks ( soda in my case 2.99). Many choice menu

Visiting s.d. . Stopped at this place. Bacon cheese burger was ok. The burger itself was really small. Almost like a junior size. Burger was kinda dry. Wont be back..

The burgers was a really good flat top Burger and the ingredients were fresh and well prepared.The fries are garbage. Even my dog wouldn't eat one. I think it's probably the oil they cook them in cuz they're just factory frozen, shoe string style fries.

Normally I like checking out local family owned businesses but I was really unimpressed with the food.The burgers were totally unsalted, the onion rings tasted super cheap, the shakes and chili cheese fries were just OK. Sports game snack bar food. Inflation notwithstanding it was just too expensive, could have gone to In n Out and got the *exact* same order for $10 less.

I see why you guys are famous, the bacon in the cheeseburger I got was awesome! The shakes were also really good. My banana shake was really chunky, which was good at first but maybe they could have blended it a little longer. Everything tasted amazing and I'm more than satisfied.

I grew up as a kid eating burgers, and dipping my fries into my chocolate shakes, when my uncle used to own this establishment many many yesrs ago. Returning after nearly 20years, made me smile. The food was delish and shakes were the same!! So glad this place is still open!!! Brought back amazing memories!

Milkshakes are better than In-n-out, the food can be hit or miss depending on your preference, I personally love everything about this classic drive thru spot in Lemon Grove. I recommend trying the shakes and food at least once if you're in the area.

It's my go-to place off the bus B4 home. Varied menu, good prices & nice staff. 1/27/22. Rewriting more. Visited Charlie's again. I have to recommend the either bacon/ham & cheese croissant 2 for 6 or 7$ AND get a real fresh banana shake. So good. My total a bit over $9. If you are expecting fast food-its not: all cooked after ordered. I may have at times (I go EV few months) hadq-2 people ahead (I do walk up order, drive thru gets long at times & my wait most 10 mins. For real banana real shake & great croissants I go). 5 stars *****

This is an outdoor hamburger stand with a drive-thru. They have terrific food. I got hamburgers and veggie sandwiches on Pita. They have a surprisingly diverse menu. Highly recommended.

Practically an historical landmark, they put out fine food across the board. Worth checking out at least once. Don't think they stand out enough to merit complete devotion, though. Try Canada Steak Burger for history and nervana.

Hands down the best corndog!! Burgers taste fresh, fries are salty and good. Shakes always the bomb! Employee vibe is never rude or a problem but always seems like they just got out of a staff meeting where they may have been yelled at!

Found this place by pure luck. Jack-in-the-box wasn't excepting debit. We heard of this place, but never knew where it was. Came across it. Now they have 2 more customers for life.? Good food & Good service. ??

Been driving past this place for years. Passing the usual food by accident I ended up near by and said, why not.HOLE IN THE WALL!Deliciously chard Bacon Cheese Burger, Large crispy seasoned fries, and I tried a Orange Crush Cream Float. Simple old-fashioned burger spot. Nice variety. Reminds me of a Foaster Freeze that focuses more on food. Not to mention I got all that for under $13.Regret not going here sooner.

These are the best small shop burgers around. Been coming here since I was a kid and now take my family. We don't even live close and still take the drive. I always get the number 6 double bacon cheese burger with friea and drink. I tried the bacon cheese hot dog this time and was pretty good.

Hole in the walls always have the best food. Great food. They serve burgers to French fries to hot dogs to corn dogs to onion rings to breakfast sandwiches to real ice cream milkshakes. The chili cheese fries, double bacon cheeseburgers, triple cheeseburgers, ham & cheese croissants, peanut butter milkshake, Oreo milkshake and orange dreamin ( orange crush with vanilla ice cream). The food is prepared fresh and hot. Reasonable prices. Good portion sizes. Limited outdoor seating available. Nice, prompt, friendly service. You can’t go wrong with this place.

Honestly better burgers than in and out. I also prefer their fries over other fast food places. Employees were courteous, accommodating and always ask if you want condiments unlike the other places you have to practically beg to get the sauce

My husband and I took our kids today for lunch the burgers where awesome the shakes are great and the staff where very friendly and the owner goes above and beyond to make you feel like family. We will definitely be going back.

Husband had a taste for real hamburgers and he wanted Charley's, so I decided to order as well. The service taker was patient with us in ordering as it had been awhile since we've been there. We both were pleased with our orders(sort of)especially me with the fries and hubby hamburger with bacon. The only downfall for me was I ordered crispy crispy bacon and received partially crispy but the ends were flabby. The gentleman informed me that's as crisp as they could get it after handing me our order which came up to $30 mind you. If I knew I couldn't get what I requested maybe I would have opted for something else. Paid $30 and no crispy bacon as requested? I know they use a griddle so crisping up the ends couldn't be impossible just dont think they wanted to. There was no line so taking a few extra minutes out to honor customer request would have been nice. Also I know covid-19 cleanliness procedures have fallen by the wayside in most restaurants but when did using gloves stop? Please use gloves when handling food!

Food was good if you're looking for quick burger spot and this is the closest you will get to chilly cheese fries in San Diego that would resemble Famous Tams burgers wish they could be bigger though on the chilly cheese fries but it's still good food and the shakes don't disappoint
