Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse

Visit on 1/28/24. This is a game changer after a bad experience at another location! This location gave us 100% the opposite of our previous experience and I would give them more than 5 stars- here is why- service: 10/5 stars. Chris, our server, was on his second day working at this location and I cannot say enough how much I love his attitude! He is a humble person yet has a really personality. The questions that we asked, if he didn't know the answer, he will bring along one of the nicest person I have recently met in the food industry, her name fits her like a glove: Star. Star has a smile that just makes you want to hug her! She answered our questions about drinks and food, she showed that she cared about Everyone around her and has the calmest attitude! Food and drinks: 6/5, we ordered the melted cheese with pico de gallo and beers. For main dishes, my fiancee ordered the personal supreme pizza and he liked it very much, ate it all. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs -which is a huge plate by the way- with sweet potato fries and coleslaw, the meat was a little raw for me and when I kindly asked Chris if it was possible to cook it a lit bit more, he brought Star and of low and behold, with a huge smile, she said: of course. But wait, it gets better: the cooker or chef, himself, came to our table to assure me it was going to be cooked for 5 more minutes in the oven and that he would bring new sides as well. When he brought it back, I was so touched by his attitude, No drama! I cannot stress enough what a difference it makes when the employees go the extra mile. The place was very clean, floor and tables. Literally no waiting time. Atmosphere was great, not too loud. Overall, I will definitely come back and look for Star and Chris ❤️!

The wings smelled a bit funny. The flatbread was just curst cheese, and chicken bunched up in the middle, and salmon was burnt. I may give them 1 more chance because it seems like a nice place for drinks to watch a game, but the kitchen may need more staff.

A+ from the manager (owner?) greeting us at the door, to our amazing server, Starr, to the super yummy food! We were in town for only the night, found this place online (menu appealed), and we were NOT disappointed!!! Clean, fun space that wasn't too loud, generous portion sizes of excellent food, and above excellent service from Starr from start to finish!!! An amazing experience for just Googling "restaurants near me" from the hotel. If we are ever back in the area, this establishment will be a must stop! Wish there were a location ILM!! I really can't say enough positive things to make my heartfelt point. Did I mention our server, Starr???!!! Oh! The hefeweizen on tap was AMAZING!!! Thanks, y'all, for the perfect wind down evening that was soooo needed after a crazy day in the city... 10 stars if I could!!!(PS- we got a Buffalo chix wrap with tots and the salmon with tots and a side salad [the house made dressing is also noteworthy]. Both were recommended, along with about 8 other things, by our server, Starr. Soooooo good!!!!)

Why are the servers so bad at bringing refills and following simple instructions of customers??‍♀️ Not just that but one server, I think her name is FALYN she is only good for cleaning tables off and washing dishes. If she is new please have a talk with your manager about her poor customer service. I was so disappointed with the treatment me and my wife had she didn’t even bother to ask us what we needed to eat with or bring any straws and the food was freezer cold ?

In town for the weekend and this place popped up as I was searching for a new restaurant to dine at. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food ordered. I decided on the grilled chicken, which was chargrilled and came with garlic bread. I opted to add jalapéno bacon and a blend of melted cheddar/mozzarella cheeses. The chicken was unfortunately mostly dry, which caused a huge loss of flavor. Additionally, the bacon was swapped with applewood bacon instead of the jalapéno bacon I order. While the addition of bacon and cheeses were adequate, it wasn't enough to make up for the overcooked poultry. Upon receiving my entree, I was eager to taste what appeared to be a mouth watering bird. However, in this case, the food appealed more to my eyesight then my taste buds. As a side note, my wife and daughter ordered a bacon chicken wrap with broccoli and tater tots, and a hamburger with french fries (total bill was $35). They both stated the food was slightly above average. If you are choosing between this restaurant and another you haven't been to, I would recommend you try the other establishment. (Sorry no photo's, I will do better moving forward).

Went at 2:30 pm for a late lunch, Less than 10 customers in the place. Food: Waited 30 min for grouper tacos. I never send food back, but this was gross. The fish was fishy, gray and undercooked, with way too much salty seasoning, and juice pouring out one end. The tortilla chips tasted like they had gone stale and were refried-- thick, greasy and off-flavor. Couldn't find any wait staff even though we were only one of two tables occupied. I wandered around looking for someone, and someone offered to find the manager (I would have been fine with any wait staff, but there were none to be seen or found). Several minutes later he told me the manager was busy and I could order something else, and not to worry, I wouldn't be charged for my first order, only my second. Another 15 min for grilled salmon over a side salad (while my friend is finishing her food by now) which was presented by our waitress for only her second time to our table. I told her I needed new silverware as mine left with the first plate. She disappears for 10 min so I get up, again, looking for at least a fork. Ran out of water. Got out of there nearly 2 hours after getting there. Not going back.

My wife and I shared a Philly cheese steak and a double burger. Both were outstanding. The service was excellent. They have numerous beers on tap as well as a lengthy wine list and full bar. Great place to hang out and watch a game with family and friends.

Want to go deaf from a blaringly loud TV? This is the place to do it! I couldn't hear anyone at our table, but I could definitely hear the Aflac commercials. Loved that.The food was pretty bad. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, and I guess they forgot to add the buffalo sauce. It was basically just grilled chicken and lettuce. The server noted it didn't look right, but did not offer to remove it from the bill.Service was bad and slow. Slow service has become the norm these days, but you should probably ask people at the table if they want drinks refilled at least once over an hour and a half period. She did not.By far the best part of the experience was leaving the restaurant.

If you live in Ballantyne or are visiting Ballantyne and are looking for a great sports bar with plenty of TVs and really good food to choose from they I highly recommend Duckworth in Ballantyne located in the heart of Ballantyne.

I live in Rochester NY, and I get to Charlotte a few times per year. Often we go to lunch at Duckworth's. This year was like the other visits; it was a joy to lunch at Duckworth's. The staff was pleasant and attentive. There were menu choices for every taste, including for the grandkids. The food was served hot. The beer choices were extensive. The place has a pleasant atmosphere.Highly recommend.

Terrible service! The whole section of customers were looking around for her throughout the experience. We would have had more to drink but she wasn’t available. I had the tap house burger. Now, I’ve burned some bacon in my own kitchen, but not as burnt as this bacon. It was black black and ruined the entire burger. They didn’t put the japs on it either. My daughter had the chicken salad. I was appalled at her ability to pick through it so well. Her response was the cucumbers were bitter and spicy onions. I like spicy onions but as I kid, I get it. The presentation needs improvement. The vegetables come in these large bowls & not proportional. Only half of a chicken breast for my significant other. In seeking a positive, I will say the cucumber cocktail was great.

Me and some friends go here every Sunday to watch football. The food is ok.They don't have the large selection of beers like the one in downtown CharlotteEdit:The mixed cocktails aren't that great, must be the choice of liquors they have for the drinks... I can go home and make the drinks better?

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I had the most enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and my waitress Aniyah was very pleasant. She was attentive, gave great recommendations and was very personable. I would recommend the location and suggest you ask for Aniyah’s section!

We went to Duckworth's for Father's Day dinner. I was impressed that they had plant-based burger options. I love the Create Your Own Burger menu. I have had Impossible burgers at multiple restaurants (I also make them at home), this was by far my favorite Impossible burger that I have ever had. I got it with their Impossible and Taproom sauces, sauteed mushrooms, onions, pickles, and american cheese; absolutely delicious. The reason for the 4 stars is that the Create Your Own Salad option ended up being not as up to par as we would have liked, it was a pretty small salad considering the price and not everything I requested on my burger was put on. Since the burger was so amazing I didn't mind that it wasn't exactly as requested, but the person in my party who ordered the salad ended up needing to finish my burger in order to be full. Highly recommend the burger, worth the trip for sure and will be back.

Came to Duckworths tonight to grab a quick drink after work, had a great time with Justin as my server. They always have some new rotating craft beer and Justin gave me some great recommendations. The manager Cody came by and checked on how everything was going recommended another beer for me to try.

Beer selection is wide but not deep. Meaning nothing special. I like IPAs but had a hard time finding something different. It seems to be whatever the local distributor has. Food is not what it used to be. Wings tonight were nothing to brag about. Slow Friday night maybe because it was Good Friday.

One of mY favorite places. Once a week chicken Philly with jalapeños, olives and pickles. One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Soooo flavorful. So so good-i can't stay away. Great service great bartenders. The bread is the best I've ever had. The flavor is unbelievable. Wish I could go every day. I love it! The food is so improved. Good job Mr. Duckworth.

Super yummy pepperoni pizza and BBQ wings will definitely be back! Very relaxed and chilled atmosphere with great food! Tons of beer selections which was awesome for my boyfriend he unfortunately didn't like the first beer he picked so we let the manager know. He was super polite listening to what flavor profiles my boyfriend would enjoy better. He came back with 2 samples which both turned out to be really good. Cody's customer service was awesome he went above and beyond which was very much appreciated. My boyfriend also bought some more beer to go. So it was definitely a winner.??

The customer service is impeccable. The restaurant is clean and well kept.I ordered the Nashville hot chicken strips, fried pickles and fries. The chicken tenders tasted nothing like Nashville hot chicken but they were very tasty. The fries were okay as some were hard and over cooked. The fried pickles were extremely salty to the point where I could only eat a few. I have eaten fried pickles from many other restaurants and these were the saltiest by far.Most of my party enjoyed their food. I will give this restaurant another try. However, I’ll be sure to order different menu items.

I came in late but was given great service at the bar. The bartender was Grace. Very friendly and had my order memorized from last time. I don't make it easy when I order but she remembered everything. Love coming to the Ballantyne location. Always a great time!

I was visiting from out of town and was a bit overwhelmed but the bartender Grace, was great when I had questions about the beers and food menu. Food was great but experience was really topped off by the great bar service .
